CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Ole Miss baseball’s most conclusive success of the year came at the main time.
The Rebels crushed Arizona 22-6 on Monday to win the Coral Gables Regional and advance to NCAA super regionals at Southern Miss. Ole Miss (35-22) cleared every one of the three games to dominate a provincial beyond Oxford without precedent for program history.
Monday’s 22-run overflow set a school standard for runs in a postseason game, breaking a sign of 20 recently accomplished in 2005 against Oklahoma.
Ole Miss’ offense overwhelmed from the leap against Arizona (39-25). First baseman Tim Elko hit homers in the first and third innings and second baseman Peyton Chatagnier smacked one in the second.
